MATHESON/NSHD’s HYCO Executes Long-Term Hydrogen Supply Contract for Renewable Diesel Production

MATHESON, the USA affiliate of Nippon Sanso Holding Corporation, Tokyo, has signed a long-term Supply Agreement to meet hydrogen requirements for a 75,000 bpd refinery in Mobile, Alabama owned by Vertex Energy (“Vertex”). The MATHESON Facility will have a nameplate capacity exceeding 30 mmscfd hydrogen production and the capability to process a range of feedstocks, including renewable naphtha and other co-products from Vertex’s Renewable Diesel production, as well as natural gas, as necessary. The Facility is designed in accordance with MATHESON HYCO’s global standards with respect to safety, ultra-high supply reliability, and with the flexibility required to best integrate these specifications with Vertex’s operations and supply considerations. Conceptual Design of the HYCO Facility has been completed and engineering has been progressed. Procurement of critical path equipment by MATHESON has also commenced.

Meet David, Our July Employee Spotlight

Our July spotlight focuses on David, Propane Supervisor, for the industrial gas business in the East Zone. David joined MATHESON in 2014 as an Industrial Truck Driver in Martins Ferry, Ohio. In this role he transported cylinders to our customers throughout the Ohio region. David’s hard work, dedication and customer-oriented focus have helped him work his way up through MATHESON, and in 2020 he was promoted to his current role as Propane Supervisor.
Do your best and your best will do.
David
In David’s department teamwork is key, “We have a lot of employees at the Martins Ferry location that have been with MATHESON for a long time. We work well together and are always there for each other to help out. Driving propane can be very demanding especially in the winter months when residents need the fuel to heat their homes. We take our job very seriously and we work hard to make sure we are supporting our customers.” David’s main focuses in his job are routing and scheduling and his team is very helpful not only in his work life now, but especially when he was transitioning from a driver to a supervisor. “They make it nice to come to work every day,” David states.
“Do your best and your best will do” is a phrase that David grew up with. This third-generation volunteer fire fighter puts his heart into everything he does. If he isn’t working or giving back to his community, he spends his time at home with his girlfriend and two children. They share a passion for cooking. David said, “It isn’t the end result of cooking, it is the process that I enjoy.” David enjoys making spaghetti sauce, brisket, and has even perfected his own pizza dough recipe. He emphasizes that he “loves to get down and make something from scratch.”
If you are in the Martins Ferry, Ohio location, be on the lookout for David.
