Nick Jarred – September Employee Spotlight

Meet Nick Jarred, an exceptional member of our team and the Maintenance Manager at our affiliate company, Continental Carbonic Products, Inc. (CCPI) Beatrice, NE Plant. Nick’s dedication to his role and the company has brought a significant positive impact to our operations.

Nick joined CCPI in 2021, and in just three years, he has become an instrumental part of the team. As Maintenance Manager, Nick’s daily responsibilities include ensuring all equipment is operational and ready for use, managing spare parts inventory, collaborating with local vendors for projects, and supporting the Plant Manager with cost-saving initiatives.

Before joining CCPI, Nick was a Maintenance Manager at a groundbreaking alternative energy plant. Although the plant showcased an impressive product, funding challenges led to its closure after three years. Following this experience, Nick’s expertise brought him to CCPI, where he has thrived and made significant strides in enhancing the culture.

One of Nick’s most notable accomplishments at CCPI is shifting the maintenance team’s approach from reactive to proactive. Through his leadership, the team focuses on root-cause failure analysis, which has resulted in improved overall equipment efficiency and reduced repetitive failures. This shift has boosted efficiency and positioned CCPI’s Beatrice Plant as a reliable swing plant capable of supporting other locations as needed.

Beyond his professional achievements, Nick’s remarkable dedication to safety deserves recognition. Safety is a top priority for CCPI, and Nick’s focus on proactive safety measures has ensured the well-being of the maintenance team and improved overall operational safety.

Nick is not only a dedicated professional but also a compassionate colleague. During challenging times, such as the COVID crisis, Nick’s supportive nature and open-door policy have made a tremendous difference for his teammates. He considers the CCPI team a family, and this camaraderie has fostered a work environment prioritizing collaboration and mutual support.

Nick enjoys fishing and spending quality time with his family outside of work. He finds solace at Table Rock Lake in Southern Missouri, a place he describes as his favorite in the world. He relishes the clear, deep waters there and envisions retiring to a lake house someday.

With her extensive recruitment experience and genuine passion for connecting with people, Nancy has become a valuable asset to our organization. Her responsibilities as a national driver recruiter include sourcing, screening, and hiring drivers nationwide. Nancy’s dedication and expertise in finding suitable candidates have contributed significantly to the growth and efficiency of our driver workforce.

What sets Nancy apart is her enthusiasm for the recruitment process. She describes it as a thrilling hunt, and when she successfully brings in new hires, it’s a truly exhilarating experience. Nancy’s ability to build rapport and understand drivers personally has been instrumental in attracting top talent to our company. Her approachable nature and genuine interest in each driver’s story create an environment of trust and open communication.

Before joining MATHESON, Nancy had a diverse career journey. With a degree in psychology, she initially ventured into the field of Human Resources, where she discovered her passion for connecting with people and helping them find fulfilling careers. During her time in Human Resources, she had the idea to transition into driver recruiting, given her previous interactions with drivers and her ability to relate to their experiences. Since then, she has spent approximately three years honing her recruiting skills, making her a seasoned professional in the field.

One of the key lessons Nancy has learned throughout her career is the importance of treating everyone with respect and professionalism, regardless of their occupation or background. She firmly believes that every individual, whether a truck driver or a corporate executive, deserves the same level of consideration and courtesy. Nancy’s commitment to honesty and fairness has made her a trusted partner for drivers and the MATHESON team.

Beyond her work as a recruiter, Nancy’s interests and hobbies reflect her vibrant personality. She loves reading and can often be engrossed in murder mysteries and gripping non-fiction books. Nancy’s fascination with true crime extends to her TV preferences.

Nancy’s interests surpass her love for reading and true crime mysteries. Alongside these pursuits, she is passionate about examining local history and researching details of her genealogy. However, Nancy’s passion for history does not stop there. She finds herself exploring local cemeteries and understanding the lives and legacies of those who preceded her.

As Nancy continues to make a positive impact at MATHESON through her exceptional recruitment skills and dedication to fostering meaningful connections, she exemplifies the values and spirit of our company culture. Her professionalism, kindness, and commitment to providing a positive experience for drivers and colleagues make her an outstanding team representative.
