Kristin Bellon – January Employee Spotlight

Kristin Bellon’s career at MATHESON is defined by her drive to succeed and her passion for learning. Over the past nine years, she has taken on various roles within the company, working through the ranks from Administrative Assistant to her current role as an FDA Compliance Specialist. Her experience highlights how embracing new opportunities can lead to personal and professional growth.

Kristin’s role is crucial in ensuring that MATHESON’s Air Separation Units (ASUs) and Packaged Gas sites meet strict medical regulations. She travels frequently to conduct audits, inspecting sites to make certain they comply with FDA and state standards. Kristin’s passion for compliance emerged early in her career, and she was thrilled when she was offered this specialist role, which aligns perfectly with her long-term professional goals.

One of Kristin’s proudest accomplishments was her involvement in the Pelican Project, where she took on many roles during the construction of the Westlake ASU site. She says the best moment was seeing the team’s hard work come to life in the completion of four ASUs, transforming an empty clearing into something extraordinary. Being a part of the Pelican Project showcased Kristin’s dedication to her work and reinforced her passion for the industry and MATHESON’s growth.

Kristin draws her greatest motivation from her husband and three children. Outside of work, she enjoys living in what she calls a “Sportsman’s Paradise.” She loves fishing in both freshwater and saltwater as well as hunting. These activities allow her to unwind and connect with the outdoors, a key part of her personal life.

Kristin’s journey at MATHESON is marked by a commitment to excellence and a drive to continually learn and grow. She values the company’s strong safety culture and encourages new employees to embrace every opportunity to expand their knowledge. Ardie Smith – December Employee Spotlight Video

Ardie Smith began his career at MATHESON in October 2015 as a driver for our Packaged Gas business. Just two years later, his leadership potential was recognized, and he was promoted to Lead Driver, setting him on the path to his current role as the Distribution Manager at the Fort Worth, TX location.

Ardie oversees the logistics of daily operations, focusing on truck maintenance and ensuring compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) and company regulations. He starts each day by leading the team through safety discussions, addressing any issues that could impact their work.

Hard work always pays off.

Some of Ardie’s proudest accomplishments include being named South Zone Driver of the Year in 2024, contributing to key initiatives like the Uniformed Truck Cab Project and the Distribution Reorganization Project, and becoming a Certified Driver Trainer. His dedication to safety and leadership has made a lasting impact on MATHESON.

Outside of work, Ardie is passionate about spending quality time with his family, making it a top priority in his life. He also values staying active, regularly hitting the gym as part of his routine. His love for sports often leads him to attend games whenever he can, while his enthusiasm for Corvettes showcases his appreciation for precision and design.

Ardie takes pride in being a leader at his location and enjoys mentoring teammates on MATHESON’s values. Ardie also appreciates the opportunities for growth within the company and reminds those looking to advance: “Hard work always pays off.”

Ardie’s ability to lead by example, from his early days as a Packaged Gas Driver to his current role as Distribution Manager, highlights his dedication to both personal growth and the success of his team. Marisa Reyes – December Employee Spotlight

Marisa Reyes’ career at MATHESON began in 2009 when she was brought on as temporary personnel in Human Resources. What started as a short-term role quickly became full-time, working as an HR Assistant. In 2013, she became a Senior Payroll Specialist, and by 2021, her leadership and expertise earned Marisa her current role as Payroll and Compensation Manager.

Marisa leads a team of payroll specialists, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time. Her responsibilities extend beyond overseeing payroll – she is also instrumental in managing compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and facilitating audits by maintaining accurate payroll records. Additionally, she takes charge of training new hires, making sure that her team is well-equipped to handle the demands of a fast-paced payroll environment.

Collaboration is a key part of Marisa’s role, and it’s something she values deeply in MATHESON’s culture. She appreciates the company’s focus on teamwork and the support she receives from her colleagues. Marisa believes this culture of collaboration fosters a productive work environment and enhances the efficiency of her department while allowing for continuous learning and growth within the team.

Outside of her professional life, Marisa enjoys spending quality time with her family. Whether it’s traveling together or watching travel vlogs and movies at home, she cherishes every moment with her husband and son. She also finds time to indulge in shopping to reward herself for her hard work.

Marisa is passionate about continuous improvement and encourages her colleagues to never stop learning. Her advice to new teammates is to ask questions, adapt to changes, and find ways to enhance their efficiency. As one of Marisa’s favorite quotes says, “In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.” She also emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance by managing time effectively.

Neil Mistry – November Employee Spotlight Video

For the past three years, Neil Mistry has excelled at adapting to change and embracing new challenges at MATHESON. Starting as a recruiter with Continental Carbonic Products, a MATHESON company, he quickly seized opportunities to increase his skills and take on new responsibilities that led him to his current role as a Dynamics 365 Analyst. Now, Neil plays a crucial part in keeping systems running smoothly, ensuring that data flows seamlessly and users are empowered to succeed.

Neil

In his current role, Neil focuses on reporting sales and recruiting data, offering system support to Dynamics 365 users, and creating training content to help employees make the most of the platform. A typical day might involve troubleshooting user issues, generating reports, or brainstorming ways to improve system efficiency.

Neil considers his greatest achievement at MATHESON to be learning to embrace change, even when it’s intimidating. He believes that taking steps forward, no matter how small, can lead to great outcomes and encourages new teammates to “Ask questions, keep learning, network, embrace feedback, and set goals – just keep moving forward.”

One of Neil’s most memorable experiences at MATHESON was visiting a manufacturing plant, where he witnessed firsthand the machinery, logistics, and team camaraderie that keep the organization running. “You can read about it, but nothing compares to experiencing it,” he recalls.

Outside of work, Neil loves spending quality time with his family and pursuing his passions, which include exploring the outdoors through hiking and biking, as well as indulging in his deep enthusiasm for all things automotive.

Jackson Powell – November Employee Spotlight

Jackson Powell brings exceptional drive and commitment to the sales team at Continental Carbonic Products, a MATHESON company. Since joining the team in July 2019, Jackson’s dedication and achievements have been pivotal in Continental’s growth earning him his recent promotion to Regional Sales Manager.

Jackson understands the fundamentals of sales such as cold calling and prospecting for new business, nurturing relationships with existing customers, negotiating new customer service agreements, and executing contract renewals. This sales experience will be invaluable in his new position as Regional Sales Manager.

Recognized as Continental Carbonic Products’ Salesperson of the Year in both 2022 and 2023, Jackson’s proudest accomplishments stem from his relentless pursuit of excellence. A standout moment in his career was making the Denver, CO branch profitable within its first year, a testament to his dedication and strategic skill. He thrives on the challenges presented by the ever-evolving dry ice industry and finds motivation in the company’s strong commitment to safety, a value that deeply resonates with him. Jackson respects the tenure and experience of Continental’s diverse teams, appreciating each member’s unique strengths.

Celebrating nearly a decade with his wife, Lauren, and raising six children, Jackson values family time immensely. They explore Colorado’s scenic outdoors together, hiking and biking. Additionally, he coaches his kids’ sports teams and enjoys experimenting with new smoker and BBQ grill recipes.

For new teammates, Jackson’s advice is straightforward: don’t hesitate to ask for help. With a wealth of knowledge and experience within the team, Continental is a place where everyone is willing to lend a hand. His mantra, inspired by John Wooden, guides his approach to both work and life: “Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.” Jackson exemplifies this philosophy daily, striving for personal excellence and inspiring those around him to do the same.
